Label This Flight, Barr & Barr nightlight in Gothic style with a detachable grassy base is now a very rare piece, but such cottages were very popular in the 19th century. Used as nightlights or pastille burners, the candle light would have shone through the thinly potted windows, whilst the fragrant smoke would have drifted up the chimney to scent the air. C.1820 - 25.
Description Small cottage which lifts off the grassy base. Painted in natural colours with a thatched roof, grey windows and delicately painted flowers against the walls.
